An urbanist, a surveyor and an academic, a senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University and an experienced Chartered Surveyor.  Having completed an MSc in Place Management, and an MA in Planning Built Environment. Chris also has a postgraduate diploma in planning and urban regeneration, a postgraduate diploma in research of the built environment, and a BSc in urban estate surveying, along with a postgraduate certificate of education. A member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of IRRV. More lately a member of the Institute of Place Management and a guest lecturer at Birmingham City University teaching Law of Lease Renewals and Rent Reviews under the 1954 Act, as well as the Law of Dilapidations and Compulsory Purchase. and guest lectures at Nottingham Trent University.

Property is in his blood, with expertise in all areas of the property market, from retail leasing to rent reviews, arbitration and expert witness, saving over £6 million in retail rents in the last 5 years. Chris McGarrigle is an experienced Chartered Surveyor and has dealt with rent reviews across the whole country, acting on high street retail shops, across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Eire, acting for Rymans, H Samuel, Ernest Jones, McColls and Bargain Booze, Costcutter, Dominos and Tim Hortons..
